First up: Donald Trump Jr., who'll be returning to the witness stand two weeks after state lawyers quizzed him during a major stretch of the trial that also featured testimony from his father and siblings Eric and Ivanka Trump.

"We will fight legal battle...": Sanjay Raut over Mumbra Shakha controversy

Amid a tussle between the Shiv Sena and the Uddhav Thackeray Sena after the Shinde faction allegedly bulldozed a 25-year-old Shakha of the UBT Sena in Mumbra, MP Sanjay Raut said that a legal battle will go on for the Mumbra Shakha of Shiv Sena.

"Eknath Shinde is not a force neither are the 40 people who have joined him. They are not Shiv Sena. The real Shiv Sena is what you saw in Mumbra yesterday. When Uddhav Thackeray reached there, everyone had come on the road. If you had not used the police, we would have taken control of the Shakha today. Today the police are your slave, tomorrow the same police will follow our orders, what will you do then? A legal battle will also go on for the Mumbra Shakha of Shiv Sena. We have complete documents," Sanjay Raut said.

International students have returned to US colleges, fuelled by a surge from India

International students attended US universities in surging numbers last year, rebounding from a pandemic slump with the help of a 35 per cent jump in students coming from India, according to a study released on Monday.

Overall, the number of international students in the US grew by 12 per cent in the 2022-23 academic year, the largest single-year increase in more than 40 years, according to findings from the State Department and the nonprofit Institute of International Education. More than 1 million students came from abroad, the most since the 2019-20 school year.

Telangana: 6 dead, 3 injured as massive fire engulfs godown in Hyderabad

Six people died after a massive fire engulfed a chemical godown on the first floor of a four-storey building at Nampally in Telangana's Hyderabad, said an official.

As many as three people sustained injuries, the official added. "The repair work of a car was going on in the godown on the ground floor. The sparks spread to the chemical barrel kept in the godown and caused the fire. Within no time, the fire engulfed other floors of the building and caused six deaths", said DCP Venkateshwar Rao, Central Zone, Hyderabad.

Qatar airlines from Kozhikode to Doha cancelled due to technical reasons

A Doha-bound Qatar airlines flight from Calicut International Airport here was cancelled on Monday due to technical reasons, airport sources said.

The flight -- QR 537 -- was scheduled to depart around 4am. The 135 passengers who were to travel to Doha have been shifted to hotels, the sources said.

INS Sumedha makes goodwill visit to Namibia as part of extended range Op deployment

Indian Naval Ship INS Sumedha is on a goodwill visit to Namibia's Walvis Bay from November 10-13, the Indian Navy said.

In a post on social media platform X, the Indian Navy said that during the visit, the cross-deck visits were undertaken.

"INS Sumedha in Walvis Bay #Namibia 10-13 Nov 23 as part of ongoing extended range Op Deployment. Interaction with senior #Namibian Govt functionaries, military officials & cross deck visits were undertaken," the Indian Navy wrote on X.

"We hope to evacuate them by this evening": NDRF on workers trapped inside Uttarkashi tunnel

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and other teams engaged in the rescue operation at the site of the collapsed under-construction tunnel in Uttarkashi, hope to evacuate the 40 workers trapped inside the tunnel by today evening.

"Since yesterday, 10-15 meters more excavation has been done. People trapped inside have been given food and water. By this evening, we will make every effort to ensure that all these people come out safely. There are 40 people inside and all of them are safe. Plaster has been done for 200 meters from the starting point of the tunnel but there is no plaster beyond that, hence it has suddenly subsided. When the machines are working, debris is falling from above, which is causing some trouble," he said.

Maharashtra: Layer of haze envelops Mumbai; AQI dips to 'poor' category

A layer of haze enveloped Mumbai as the Air Quality Index (AQI) fell into the 'poor' category post-Diwali celebrations.

According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR-India), the overall AQI of the city was recorded at 234 which falls under the 'poor' category.

The air quality of the Borivali area stood at 307 while that of Kalanagar was recorded at 312. The AQI in Chembur was recorded at 334 and that of the Worli area was recorded at 134, as per SAFAR-India.

Fire breaks out at house in Delhi's East of Kailash area, no casualties

A fire broke out at a house in the East of Kailash area in South Delhi last night, said officials on Monday.

As soon as the information was received, fire tenders reached the spot and brought the blaze under control.

No casualties or injuries have been reported, said the Delhi Fire Department.

1 killed, 5 injured as vehicle falls into gorge in Uttarakhand's Nainital

A man was killed while five others were injured after a car, they were travelling in, fell into a gorge near Jaurasi in Uttarakhand's Nainital district on Monday morning, officials said.

The deceased was identified as Chhatar Singh, a resident of Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh. While those injured in the accident have been identified as Suraj Singh, Jitendra Dasila, Santosh Mehar, and Harish Kumar.

According to police, on Monday morning at around 4:00 am information was received that a vehicle had fallen into a ditch near Jaurasi for which State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is required for rescue operation.

Over 180,000 people in France march against anti-semitism amid Israel war

More than 180,000 people across France, including 100,000 in Paris, marched peacefully on Sunday to protest against rising anti-semitism in the wake of Israel's ongoing war against Hamas in Gaza.

Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, representatives of several parties on the left, conservatives and centrists of President Emmanuel Macron's party as well as far-right leader Marine Le Pen attended Sunday's march in the French capital amid tight security. Macron did not attend, but expressed his support for the protest and called on citizens to rise up against the unbearable resurgence of unbridled anti-semitism.

Smog engulfs Delhi after Diwali celebration amid worsening air quality

A thick layer of smog engulfed the national capital after people burst crackers on Diwali night, leading to heavy pollution all across the city, which is already battling with its deteriorating air quality.

Visuals from various parts of Delhi showed thick haze covering the roads, significantly reducing visibility and making it difficult to see beyond a few hundred metres.
