CM Patnaik sanctions Rs 45 cr to build community centres for minorities

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday approved Rs 45 crore for constructing 150 multi-purpose community centres for preserving the culture and heritage of the people belonging to minority communities in the state. The construction of multi-purpose cultural-cum-community centres will be taken up in 22 districts, he said. An amount of Rs 45 crore has been sanctioned for setting up these centres, he said.

Dabur group chairman, director booked in alleged Mahadev betting app case

Mumbai Police have registered a case against 32 people including Director of Dabur, Gaurav Burman and company chairman Mohit Burman in connection with Mahadev betting app under various sections of fraud and gambling.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), Mohit Burman has been listed at 16 number while Gaurav Burman is at number 18 as alleged accused in the alleged Mahadev betting app.

Low pressure likely to intensify into depression, heavy rainfall forecast for parts of Andhra Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday forecast heavy rainfall in parts of Andhra Pradesh for two days from Tuesday, as an existing low pressure over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a depression. The department said that parts of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP) and Rayalaseema are expected to receive heavy rainfall. It has also forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in a few more parts of the same region, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP) and Yanam.

Centre to launch Rs 24,000 crore scheme for welfare of tribals: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the Centre will launch a scheme worth Rs 24,000 crore for the welfare of tribals in the country on Wednesday when the entire nation will celebrate Bhagwan Birsa Munda's birth anniversary. Addressing a public meeting in Betul district, Modi noted the presence of a large number of people on the last day of his campaign for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections scheduled on November 17, and said it is an indication that the BJP's victory is assured in these polls.

Pollution spikes in 9 of 11 state capitals post-Diwali, highest in Delhi

Nine out of 11 state capitals analysed in India have recorded higher pollution in the first 12 hours after Diwali celebrations this year than what it was last year. The government's National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) tracker analysed PM 2.5 (fine particulate matter) data for 11 capital cities--Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Mumbai and Patna--for the day before Diwali, the day of Diwali and the day after Diwali (till 12 pm) for the years 2022 and 2023. The highest spike (recorded at 15-minute intervals) was seen in the national capital Delhi. It was at 999.5 ug/m3 at Pusa on November 13 at 1:30 am.

Atishi submits primary report to CM Kejriwal over complaint against CS Naresh Kumar

Delhi Vigilance Minister Atishi has submitted a 650-page primary report to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with a complaint against Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar regarding the Bamnoli land acquisition matter, official sources said on Tuesday. The complaint alleged that the chief secretary's son was employed by a relative of a man who was awarded enhanced compensation for his land acquired for a road project.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that his Maharashtra counterpart Eknath Shinde has given consent to a proposal for providing land for the construction of a Kamakhya temple in the western state.
