Andhra chief secretary reviews arrangements for PM's visit to Tirupati on Nov 26-27
In view of the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K S Jawahar Reddy on Friday took stock of the arrangements. The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Tirupati on Sunday, November 26 and leave for Hyderabad on Monday, November 27. Modi will arrive in Tirupati Airport on November 26 evening in an Air Force aircraft and then proceed to Tirumala to spend the night there, Reddy said in an official press release.

Workers to be rescued by evening: ONGC director on Uttarkashi tunnel mishap
As the ongoing operation to rescue 41 workers trapped in a collapsed portion of the Uttarkashi tunnel entered the 13th day, the director ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation), who is present at the site, asserted the labourers will be rescued today. Speaking to media persons, ONGC director Sanjay Bhatt said, " We are hopeful that the rescue operation will be concluded and the workers brought out safely by today. As of now, there is no major hindrance to the operation and everyone is hopeful that the workers will be rescued by this evening."

Industrial projects worth Rs 21.73 trn approved by Odisha govt: Minister
To make Odisha an industrial hub in eastern India, the state government has approved 848 industrial projects in different sectors with an estimated potential investment of Rs 2l.73 trn, Industries Minister Pratap Keshari Deb told the Assembly on Friday. Replying to a question of BJD member Prafulla Samal, the minister said the state government has taken some tangible steps for promotion of industries in various sectors across the state to make Odisha an industrial hub in eastern India.

India records 36 new Covid-19 cases in one day; active cases stands at 215
India saw a single-day rise of 36 fresh COVID-19 infections while the active cases have been recorded at 215, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday. The country's COVID-19 case tally stands at 4.50 crore (4,50,01,691) and the death toll at 5,33,295, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has increased to 4,44,68,179 and the national recovery rate stands at 98.81 per cent, it stated.

DGCA issues guidelines in regards to GNSS jamming over West Asian air space
After several reports of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) jamming and spoofing over airspace in the Middle East in the recent past, DGCA formed an internal committee on 4th October 2023. Uttarkashi tunnel rescue: NDRF conducts evacuation rehearsal using wheeled stretchers
The NDRF on Friday conducted a rehearsal of how it would take its wheeled stretchers through the chute being prepared to rescue the 41 workers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel. An NDRF personnel went through the passage, pushing a wheeled stretcher tied to a rope at the end of the tunnel and was pulled back up after completing the stretch.

Odisha exports cashew nuts to Bangladesh
The Odisha government has shipped two metric tonne of cashew nuts to Bangladesh, an official said. Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has facilitated the first-ever shipment of cashew nuts from Odisha to Bangladesh, said the official.
