ED takes former Karnataka Minister B Nagendra into custody in money laundering probe Bengaluru
The Enforcement Directorate on Friday took former Minister B Nagendra into custody, as part of a money-laundering probe linked to the alleged irregularities in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Limited, official sources said. The Congress MLA was taken to the ED office here from his residence for questioning, the sources said. Following allegations against him in connection with the scam, Nagendra, who was Scheduled Tribes Welfare Minister, tendered his resignation on June 6.

J-K forest division disperses seed balls by cable car to increase forest cover in challenging terrains

The initiative targets the Gondola area in Patnitop-Kud, a popular tourist destination in Udhampur. "We have dispersed around 3500 seed balls here. We felt that there was more need for seed balls here. So, we have assured 10,000 seed balls here. We will also have a massive Green Drive here, under which plantation will be done. Popular Arunachalee vlogger ''Pookoomon'' dies after fall from 4th floor residence
Popular Arunachalee vlogger Rupchi Taku, widely known as ‘Pookoomon' in the digital world, passed away at the age of 26 after falling from the fourth floor of her rented residence here on Thursday evening, police said. Taku was rushed to RK Mission Hospital but succumbed to her injuries, Superintendent of Police Rohit Rajbir Singh said.

JNU to establish centres for Hindu, Buddhist, Jain studies
The Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi will open a Centre for Hindu Studies as well as centres for Buddhist and Jain studies, according to an official notification. The three new centres will be established under the School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies, it said. The decision to set up the new centres was approved by the Executive Council of the JNU in a meeting on May 29.
