Ratna Bhandar of Puri Jagannath temple reopened for shifting of valuables

The Ratna Bhandar, the revered treasury of the 12th-century Jagannath temple in Puri, was reopened on Thursday for the second time in a week for shifting of valuables to a temporary strong room, officials said.The treasury was reopened at 9.51 am, they said. After offering prayers before Lord Jagannath and his siblings, the members of a supervisory committee set up by the Odisha government for the shifting of valuables from the Ratna Bhandar, entered the temple around 9:00 am.

Valmiki 'scam': BJP leaders trying to lay siege to 'Vidhana Soudha' detained in Bengaluru

'Bring hundred, form government': SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's 'monsoon offer' amid BJP rift speculation

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday, in a cryptic post on X, seemed to be asking ruling party MLAs to switch sides to form a new government in the state. "Monsoon offer: Bring hundred, form government," the former chief minister said. While Yadav did not name anyone in his post, a senior SP leader said on the condition of anonymity that it was a message for those in the BJP who were dissatisfied with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and wanted to cross over.

Fire at shopping mall in China kills 16 people

 At least 16 people were killed after a fire broke out at a shopping mall in southwest China's Sichuan Province. The incident occurred on Wednesday around 6 pm at the 14-story building, located in a high-tech zone in the city of Zigong, Sichuan province, according to Chinese state media. Dramatic images and videos showed a huge column of black smoke billowing from the building.
