Assam: Drugs worth Rs 30 cr seized; three peddlers caught

In a major drug haul, Yaba tablets worth around Rs 30 crore were seized in Assam's Cachar district and three peddlers arrested, officials said on Monday.
According to Karimganj Superintendent of Police Partha Protim Das, an anti-narcotics operation was launched on Sunday night at Jalalpur area under Badarpur police station after receiving specific input about the drugs. "A vehicle was intercepted and it led to the recovery of 1,00,000 Yaba tablets from a secret chamber of the vehicle. It was coming from Mizoram," he added.

Andhra receives power boats from central govt for flood relief operations in Vijayawada

The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday received power boats which it asked from the Centre to carry out flood relief operations in Vijayawada, especially at a time when it was running short of them. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to dispatch power boats and additional NDRF teams to cope with the demanding flood emergency.

There will be no water supply or water supply at very low pressure during the morning hours in parts of Delhi on Monday due to water leakage at Kamla Market, an official statement of the Delhi Jal Board said. "The shutdown of Wazirabad WTP Phase-II and Chandrawal WTP is to be done upto 12:30 am on September 2 to attend the leakage at Kamla Market on Asaf Ali Road," the statement said.

Suspected militants burnt at least five abandoned houses at a village in Manipur's Imphal West district before they were chased away by security forces, police said on Monday.
