Six killed after bus catches fire in Palnadu district of Andhra Pradesh
Six persons were killed when a private bus in which they were traveling, caught fire after being hit by a tipper near Chilakaluripet in Palnadu district, police said. The mishap took place during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, they said.

3 crushed to death by truck in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia
Three men were killed after being hit by a dumper truck in an area here under the Ballia Kotwali Police Station, an officer said on Wednesday. The victims were identified as Mohit Kumar, 24, Jitendra Yadav, 25, and Guddu Yadav, 26. All three worked as truck helpers.

The United Nations expressed apologies to India over the killing of a former Indian Army officer, who died in war-torn Rafah in Gaza when the vehicle he was travelling in was attacked by shots fired from what it believes was an Israeli tank. Colonel Waibhav Anil Kale, 46, who retired prematurely from the Indian Army in 2022, joined the world body as a Security Coordination Officer in the UN Department of Safety and Security (DSS) two months ago.

14 trapped in collapsed lift at Rajasthan mine rescued
Fourteen people, including members of a Kolkata vigilance team have been rescued after a lift collapsed at the Kolihan mine in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district late last night. The lift was carrying members of the vigilance team as well as mine officials.
