Civil defence volunteers to be re-engaged for anti-pollution measures from this week: Delhi CM
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Sunday announced that the deployment of 10,000 civil defence volunteers removed as bus marshals last year will begin in the next 2-4 days to assist various agencies fighting air pollution. A detailed proposal for their permanent engagement will also be sent for approval of the Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena within a week, she said at a press conference here.
Naxalites attack 2 police officers, flee with cop's weapons in Chhattisgarh's Sukma
Two Chhattisgarh Police constables were injured when Naxalites, dressed as civilians, attacked them with sharp weapons at a weekly market in the insurgency-hit Sukma district on Sunday morning, an official said. Naxalites also took away service rifles of the two personnel following the incident which took place when the police were deployed on security duty at the market in Jagargunda village, official added.
NGT orders action against illegal breeding, farming of African catfish in Uttar Pradesh
The National Green Tribunal has ordered action against the alleged illegal breeding and farming of the African catfish in Uttar Pradesh. Clarias gariepinus, colloquially known as the African catfish or the Thai magur, is banned in India and its farming and breeding are not permissible.
Two children missing as boat capsizes in Ganga in Bihar's Katihar
At least two children went missing when a boat carrying them capsized in the Ganga river in Bihar's Katihar district an official said. The mishap took place near Hatkola village in Manihari block when the boat ferrying 12 people capsized in the ganga on Sunday morning, the official said. "While ten persons have been rescued so far, two children are still missing," District Magistrate, Katihar, Manesh Kumar Meena said.

Bihar Police nab dacoit carrying Rs 2 lakh bounty from UP
A man, carrying a bounty of Rs 2 lakh on his head for alleged involvement in dacoity and bank robbery cases, was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of Bihar Police from Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district, an official statement said on Sunday. According to the statement issued by Bihar Police here, "Mahesh Mahto alias Comrade, carrying a bounty of Rs 2 lakh on his head, was nabbed during a joint operation of the STF of the Bihar Police and the Uttar Pradesh Police."
