CAQM revisits study: Vehicles, dust, industries lead Delhi-NCR pollution

Facing scrutiny from the Supreme Court, the Commission for Air Quality Monitoring (CAQM) is revisiting the IIT Kanpur-TERI report on air pollution in Delhi-NCR, which will be discussed in the coming days. 3 IEDs planted by Naxalites seized in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur

Police have recovered three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted beneath a dirt track by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, an official said on Tuesday. The IEDs, weighing 5 kg each, were detected near Hokpad village on Kasturmeta-Mohndi villages road on Monday when a joint team of the district force and 53rd battalion of the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was out on patrolling duty, he said.

NIA conducts raids at 12 places in Bengal over Maoists links

Sleuths of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday started conducting simultaneous raids on 12 premises in West Bengal, including one in Kolkata, belonging to people allegedly linked to Maoists, an official source said. Raids were underway at Netaji Nagar, Panihati, Barrackpore, Sodepur, Asansol and several other places in West Bengal in connection with alleged links of two women and their associates with Maoists, he said.

CM Atishi, ministers inspect roads to ensure 'pothole-free' Delhi

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and cabinet ministers inspected and identified damaged roads in different parts of the city on Tuesday to ensure a pothole-free national capital by the end of October. Atishi inspected the roads in the Sarai Kale Khan area. She was accompanied by local MLA Praveen Kumar.
Taking to X, the chief minister said the BJP's "conspiracy" to stop the work being done for Delhiites by putting her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal in jail has failed.

The health condition of Tamil film superstar Rajinikanth, admitted to a corporate hospital here late Monday night, is stable, and he is likely to undergo an elective procedure at the cath lab later in the day, news agency PTI reported. The 73-year-old popular actor is likely to be discharged on Tuesday evening.

Communal elements trying to erase Koregaon Bhima's history of sacrifice: Sharad Pawar

NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar has said the history of Koregaon Bhima, located in Maharashtra's Pune district, is of sacrifices made by people but some communal elements are trying to wipe it out. The Maharashtra government set up the Koregaon Bhima Inquiry Commission in February 2018 under former high court Chief Justice JN Patel to conduct a probe into the violence. "One day, I received summons to be present before the commission. During the cross-examination, some people attempted to force me to say certain things. The history of Koregaon Bhima is a history of people who sacrificed their lives. But some communal elements are trying to wipe out that history," he claimed.

Tirupati Laddu row: SIT inspects flour mill where ghee is stored, tested

Special Investigation Team (SIT) officials on Monday inspected the flour mill in Tirumala, where ghee is stored and tested in the lab before being used in laddu prasadam. The row over the Tirupati Prasadam (laddus) began after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu claimed that substandard ingredients, including animal fat, were used in the preparation of Tirupati laddus, the Prasdam offered at the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati, during the previous YSRCP government.
