2020 Delhi riots: SC refuses to entertain bail plea of activist, asks HC to consider on Nov 25

The Supreme Court has refused to entertain the plea of student activist Gulfisha Fatima seeking bail in a case of "larger conspiracy" behind the North East Delhi riots of February 2020, and asked the Delhi High Court to consider her plea on November 25. A bench of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma noted that she has been in custody for four years and 7 months in the case. The bench said her petition for bail, which is pending before the high court, should be heard on November 25 unless there are some extraordinary circumstances.

BJP-led Mahayuti's campaign filled with hate, poison: Congress

The Congress on Monday accused the BJP-led Mahayuti government in Maharashtra of deliberately infusing "hate and poison" into its poll campaign and attempting to "disturb communal harmony in the state." Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said that the campaign revealed the "sick mindset" of the BJP.

"The Mahayuti, led by the BJP, has only one agenda in its campaign. It is simply and only to polarize society on the basis of religion and to disturb communal harmony in the state. Such an awful campaign reveals its sick mindset," Ramesh wrote in a post on X.

West Bengal by-elections: Trinamool claims EC gave appointment to hear grievances just before campaign

The Trinamool Congress, which had approached the Election Commission voicing concern over alleged misuse of central forces in West Bengal, claimed the panel gave it appointment for Monday afternoon, 90 minutes before the bypoll campaign ends in the state. Assam: 12-hr bandh called for ST status affects life in Dibrugarh

Facing a CCI probe for anti-competitive practices, online food delivery platform Zomato has asserted it complies with the country's laws while rival Swiggy said it is committed to complying with local regulations. Cop's arm gets severed as train hits him while removing bodies from tracks in MP

4 houses gutted in fire in Shimla's Rohru
