No tree felling in Mumbai's Aarey without our nod: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Friday directed the tree authority of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation not to allow any further tree felling in Mumbai's Aarey colony without its permission. A bench comprising Justices Abhay S Oka and Aravind Kumar said the authority could process the applications and then seek orders from the court.

SBI chairman pitches for dedicated institutions to track end-use of funds raised by small businesses

State Bank of India Chairman CS Setty on Friday pitched for the creation of a market infrastructure institution to track the end-use of funds borrowed or raised as equity by small businesses. A "viable mechanism" is needed to ensure that the funds are used for the intended purposes, Setty said in remarks which come amid heightened concerns on the subject of end-use of funds.

BJP protests near Kejriwal's residence over 'fake' voter registrations

The Delhi BJP held a protest on Friday against AAP for allegedly making "fake" claims regarding registration of voters from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in the electoral rolls ahead of Assembly polls. Hundreds of protesters were seen raising slogans against AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, with some attempting to breach the security barricade near Kejriwal's residence.

Class 12 student held over bomb threats to Delhi schools

Delhi Police has detained a Class 12 student for allegedly sending bomb threats to more than 23 schools in the national capital over the past few weeks as he did not want to write his exams. Around 10 educational institutes received bomb threats on Thursday, the latest in a series of such incidents in the city.

Singapore bound Air India flight returns to Chennai due to mid-air technical snag

A Singapore bound Air India flight on Friday returned Chennai after pilots detected a technical snag mid-air, officials at the airport here and the airliner said. The pilots contacted the airport upon discovering the issue, to return to the city and the flight, with about 170 passengers later made a safe landing, they added.

In the trailer released by Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, who hosts the podcast, PM Modi recalls that in a speech as Gujarat chief minister, he said that mistakes happen and he too can make some. "I am also a human not god," the prime minister said in the trailer.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the manufacturing of Vande Bharat 2.0 range of trains at the Integral Coach Factory. Accompanied by General Manager U Subba Rao, the minister inspected the furnishing division of ICF, sleeper coaches of Vande Bharat 2.0 trains and pantry cars currently under production at the facility. Inaugurated in 1955, the Integral Coach Factory is one of the earliest production units in the country.
