Case filed against comedian for using derogatory words during show at IIT Bhilai

Police have registered an FIR against stand-up comedian Yash Rathi for allegedly using objectionable words during a show at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai in Chhattisgarh's Durg district, an official said on Tuesday. A case was registered on Monday against Rathi under section 296 (obscene acts) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Jevra Sirsa police chowki following complaints lodged against him, Durg Superintendent of Police Jitendra Shukla said.

Here is why there are conflicting readings on Delhi's AQI

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's AQI was 494, marking the second-highest AQI since the index was introduced in 2015.  But platforms like IQAir, a Swiss air quality monitoring company, reported AQI levels above 1,600, leaving many scratching their heads.  Platforms such as IQAir do not have an upper limit. Isro depended on SpaceX to launch GSAT-N2 as its existing capability was not sufficient: Ex-chiefs

Former Isro chiefs stated that since existing launch vehicles lack the capacity to take off more than 4,000 tonne of payloads, India depended on billionaire Elon Musk founded SpaceX to launch its latest communication satellite, GSAT-N2, from US soil. SpaceX placed the 4,700 kg GSAT-N2 High-throughput (HTS) satellite onboard a Falcon 9 rocket into the desired orbit.

Delhi govt seeks Centre's nod for artificial rain amid worsening air quality

Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Tuesday urged the Centre to convene an emergency meeting to tackle the issue and said it is the moral responsibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the matter. Rai told reporters that the Centre has not acted on the Delhi government's repeated requests to allow artificial rain in the national capital and he will again write to Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav.

Manipur govt 'relieves' officer of duties after probe into Jiribam firing

The Manipur government has "relieved" senior SP (Combat) Nectar Sanjenbam of his duties after a probe was conducted into the Jiribam firing incident which left one person dead and another injured, according to a Home Department order. The government has constituted a two-member inquiry committee to investigate the causes that led to the firing on Sunday night.
