Karti Chidambaram demands joint parliamentary probe into allegations against Gautam Adani

Labelling the allegations as "very serious," Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Karti Chidambaram  said that the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) must come out clean about these investigations, accusing them of "stonewalling" the same. The Congress leader further said that this cannot be hidden "under the carpet" while demanding a report by the joint parliamentary committee.

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav shared on social media platform X a newspaper clipping and an advertisement that said the posts of Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, Revenue Inspector and Lekhpal were being filled through outsourcing. This was a move to snatch the constitutional right of job reservation, he said in a post on X. "It would be better if the BJP outsources the entire 'government' so that all its commissions come from one place. By doing this, the BJP will not have to take the great trouble of giving a small number of jobs while ending reservations under its pretext," he posted in Hindi.

Delhi air quality: Delhi's AQI improves but remains 'very poor'

BJP leader Manohar Tahsildar passes away

BJP leader Manohar Tahsildar died at a private hospital here following prolonged illness, party sources said. The 80-year-old is survived by four sons, two daughters among others, they said. Manohar Tahsildar breathed his last at the hospital, where he was undergoing treatment, on Wednesday night. His mortal remains will be taken to Hangal in Haveri district, the constituency he had represented, later in the day, for his followers and well wishers to pay their last respects. The body will later be shifted to his native village for the last rites, sources close to the family said.

US regulators want a federal judge to break up Google to prevent the company from continuing to squash competition through its dominant search engine after a court found it had maintained an abusive monopoly over the past decade. The proposed breakup floated in a 23-page document filed late Wednesday by the US Justice Department calls for Google to sell its industry-leading Chrome web browser and impose restrictions designed to prevent its Android smartphone software from favouring its search engine.
