ED raids IAS officer, others in Jal Jeevan Mission case in Jharkhand

The Enforcement Directorate on Monday conducted searches in connection with a money laundering probe linked to alleged irregularities in the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme's implementation in poll-bound Jharkhand, official sources said. More than 20 locations in Ranchi are being covered as part of the probe. Some locations in Chaibasa in West Singhbhum district were also raided.

Delhi imposes complete ban on firecrackers till Jan 1, 2025

The Delhi Pollution Control Committee on Monday mandated a complete ban on the manufacturing, storage, sale, and use of all types of firecrackers in Delhi until January 1, 2025. In an official statement, the committee said: “There will be a complete ban on the manufacturing, storage, selling (including delivery through online platforms), and bursting of all kinds of firecrackers up to January 1, 2025, in the territory of NCT of Delhi.” Read here for more details.

Former Rajya Sabha member from Rajasthan Gyanprakash Pilania has died at a hospital here. He was 93. A former director general of police of Rajasthan, Pilania died on Sunday night. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said, "The news of the death of former Rajya Sabha MP of Rajasthan and former DGP Gyanprakash Pilania is very sad. May Lord Shri Ram give a place to the pious soul in his lotus feet and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense sorrow."

The Congress alleged that the objectives spelt out by the Modi government at the time of launch of 'Make in India' have turned out to be "jumlas", and that 'Make in India' has simply become "Fake in India". Congress leaderJairam Ramesh also said that in the last decade economic policy making has been far from being stable, predictable and sensible. "When he announced 'Make in India' in 2014 with his usual hype and hoopla, the non-biological PM set out four objectives. Supreme Court quashes PIL alleging side-effects of COVID-19 vaccines

The top court rejected a plea alleging side-effects such as blood clotting due to the administration of COVID-19 vaccines. "File a class action suit! What is the use of this? Please also understand what would be the side-effect if you did not take the vaccine. We do not want to rake this up, this is just to create a sensation," the bench said. The plea was filed by one Priya Mishra and other petitioners.
