Baba Siddique murder case: Pravin Lonkar arrested

Mumbai Police Crime branch on Monday arrested Pravin Lonkar from Pune in connection with NCP leader Baba Siddique's Murder case. According to Mumbai Police, Pravin is the brother of Shubuu Lonkar who posted on social media that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has taken responsibility for the murder. Shubuu Lonkar is absconding at the moment.

Delhi excise policy case: Supreme Court grants bail to businessman Abhishek Boinpally

The Supreme Court today granted bail to Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally in a money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. The top court had on August 13 extended the interim bail granted to Boinpally. On March 20, the top court noted that the businessman had been in custody for 18 months and directed his release on interim bail for five weeks.

Maharashtra Cabinet scraps entry toll for light motor vehicles in Mumbai

After the final state cabinet meeting of the outgoing Maharashtra Assembly, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde declared that starting midnight, light motor vehicles will be exempt from toll fees at all five toll booths for entry into Mumbai. Read here for more details.

TDP office, Naidu residence attack cases transferred to AP CID

Andhra Pradesh DGP  Dwaraka Tirumala Rao has transferred the cases relating to the alleged attacks on the TDP office and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's residence in 2021 by YSRCP cadres to the CID, said an official on Monday. TDP and YSRCP leaders reportedly clashed outside the then opposition leader Naidu's residence at Undavalli in September 2021 while the TDP central office in Mangalagiri mandal was allegedly stormed by over 100 YSRCP leaders and cadres in October 2021.

Kolkata rape-murder case: FEMA calls 2 day strike in Siliguri medical institutions

The Federation of Medical Association (FEMA) has called a two-day pen-down strike in private and government medical colleges and hospitals in Siliguri over issues including the RG Kar rape-murder case. Doctors are protesting against the rape and murder of a woman doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Earlier, Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar urged BJP workers and people of West Bengal to join the doctors' protest in large numbers.

World's largest cargo plane Beluga XL makes a landing at Kolkata airport

The Beluga XL aircraft, the world's largest cargo plane, made another landing at Kolkata airport on Monday morning, an official said. The aircraft arrived here at 5.47 am from the Tianjin Binhai International Airport in China. The purpose of the stop is crew rest, FDTL (Flight Duty Time Limitations) and refuelling, an Airports Authority of India (AAI) spokesperson said. It is scheduled to depart at 3.30 pm on Tuesday and head to Bahrain International Airport, he said.

Two IndiGo planes operating from Mumbai to Muscat, Jeddah receive bomb threat

Several flights operating from Mumbai recieved bomb threats today, leading to rigorous security checks. . The situation began with an Air India flight, AI119, which was en route from Mumbai to  New York. Following this incident, two IndiGo flights also received bomb threats, further escalating the concerns around airline safety. The first flight, designated 6E 56, was operating from Mumbai to Jeddah. Another IndiGo flight, 6E 1275, bound for Muscat, also received a bomb threat.

Baba Siddique's murder: How the attack was planned for months

Politician Baba Siddique passed away at Lilavati Hospital, succumbing to bullet injuries after being shot at his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra. A member of the Punjab-based jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, Shubbu alias Shubham Lonkar, claimed on Sunday that he allegedly orchestrated Siddique’s murder due to his close association with Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The Bishnoi gang has threatened Khan multiple times in the past over his alleged Blackbuck shooting case, as the animal is considered sacred in the community. Read here for more details.
