In a setback to former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Telangana High Court on Monday dismissed a writ petition filed by him seeking declaring the constitution of a Commission of Inquiry to go into alleged irregularities in the power sector during the previous BRS rule as illegal.

New criminal code passed in a hurry, we seek deferment: TMC MP

"West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has already written to Union Government to ask for a deferment of the implementation of the law. These laws were passed in a hurry with 146 Opposition members absent. We think that these laws are anti-people and that is why we seek deferment,"  TMC MP Saguata Roy said today.
