Man held for hunting mouse deer in Thane
Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly hunting a mouse deer, a protected species, in Maharashtra's Thane district, an official said on Thursday. The forest department personnel on September 23 found the injured mouse deer, also known as chevrotain, with signs of being shot with a pellet gun in Ambernath area of the district.

Cyclone 'Dana' to bring heavy rainfall in parts Jharkhand, NDRF teams deployed
Parts of Jharkhand could experience heavy to very heavy rainfall from Thursday night under the influence of cyclonic storm 'Dana', a Met Department official said. An ‘orange' alert has been issued in the Kolhan region (West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharswan and East Singhbhum districts) for Friday, he said. This category of alert indicates heavy rainfall ranging from 115 mm to 204 mm in 24 hours, the official said.

Delhi AQI: Air quality deteriorates to 'very poor' category
The air quality in the national capital on Thursday deteriorated to 'very poor' category and the AQI was recorded at over 330 in most parts of the region. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI at Anand Vihar was recorded at (392), Ashok Vihar (350), IGI airport T3 (334), ITO Delhi (324), RK Puram (359), Okhla Phase-2 (322), Ashok Vihar (350), and Dwaraka-Sector 8 (348), all falling in the very poor category.
