Wrestler Bajrang Punia moves Delhi High Court against suspension by NADA
Ahead of the Senior World Wrestling Championships to be held in Albania in October, wrestler Bajrang Punia has approached the Delhi High Court challenging his suspension by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA). The grappler has claimed that the conduct of the agency is in violation of his fundamental rights to practice a profession and earn a livelihood under the Constitution of India, and that he would be "forced to retire" if the "arbitrary" suspension is not lifted.

AAP will fight to save houses facing eviction in Delhi's Madrasi Camp: Manish Sisodia
Senior AAP leader and former Delhi Minister Manish Sisodia visited southeast Delhi's Madrasi Camp, where residents have been served eviction notices to make way for the construction of a new flyover, and said the party "will fight strongly against dictatorship to save people's houses". Landslide on Kedarnath route: Death toll climbs to five
Bodies of four more pilgrims, including three women, were recovered on Tuesday from the debris of a landslide that occurred on the Kedarnath highway, taking the toll in the incident to five, officials said on Tuesday. The rescue operation, which was resumed at 5 am, concluded at 7.30 am, Ryudraprayag Superintendent of Police Akshay Konde told PTI.

Maratha quota: Jarange to launch indefinite fast on Sep 16 midnight
Activist Manoj Jarange on Tuesday announced to launch an indefinite fast from September 16 midnight to press for the Maratha reservation demand.
In February, the Maharashtra legislature passed a bill providing 10 per cent reservation for the Maratha community in education and government jobs, but Jarange is insisting on the inclusion of Marathas in the Other Backward Class (OBC) category.The activist has been leading protests demanding OBC certificates for recognising all Kunbis (agriculturists) and their “sage soyre” (blood relatives) as Marathas.

Two killed in house collapse, roads inundated amid heavy rains in Gondia
Two persons were killed after a two-storey house collapsed amid heavy rainfall in Maharashtra's Gondia district in the wee hours of Tuesday, an official said.
Heavy rains lashed the district in the last 24 hours, with the Kamtha circle in Gondia tehsil recording the highest rainfall of 292.3 mm, the official said.
The Regional Meteorological Centre in Gapur has sounded a red alert for the district for the next 24 hours.

Google lost its final legal challenge on Tuesday against a European Union penalty for giving its own shopping recommendations an illegal advantage over rivals in search results, ending a long-running antitrust case that came with a whopping fine. The European Union's Court of Justice upheld a lower court's decision, dismissing the company's appeal against the 2.4 billion euro ($2.7 billion) penalty from the European Commission, the 27-nation bloc's top antitrust enforcer.

Police arrest driver of Audi car owned by BJP leader's son after crash
Police have arrested the driver of a luxury car, owned by Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule's son, after it hit several vehicles in Nagpur city, an official said on Tuesday. Telangana CM urges 16th Finance Commission to increase states' share in Central taxes to 50%
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday urged the 16th Finance Commission to increase the share of states in Central taxes from the existing 41 per cent to 50 per cent. Highlighting that Telangana's debt mounted to over Rs 6.85 lakh crore, as of end of the last financial year, Reddy in his speech at the meeting with Commission Chairman Arvind Panagariya and members asked the panel to either restructure debt or offer the state additional assistance, as significant part of the revenue is being spent on repaying loans.

Delhi HC allows 7 students to attend classes at St Stephen's College
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday permitted seven students, who approached the court seeking admission in St. Stephen's College on the basis of the seats allocated by the Delhi University, to attend classes in the college. The division bench issued notice and sought response of the university and seven students on an appeal by the college challenging a single-judge's order which has granted admission to these candidates on the basis of the seats allocated by the varsity.
