Three workers were killed and another injured when a wall collapsed on them during construction work at a school in Rajasthan's Jalore district on Thursday, police said. The incident occurred in Poshana village under Sayla police station area, they said. Dhaka High Court refuses to ban Iskcon
The High Court in Dhaka has refused to pass a suo motu order on banning Iskcon's activities in Bangladesh after it was informed that the government authorities have taken necessary measures, The Daily Star said. Supreme Court lawyer Md Monir Uddin placed some newspaper reports about International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) before the HC bench on Wednesday and had prayed for a suo motu (voluntary) order to the government to ban the organisation and impose Section 144 in Chattogram, Rangpur and Dinajpur.

This is how you encourage sports persons? the Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Himachal Pradesh government for reportedly denying employment to an Asian Games gold medallist under the sports quota. A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Augustine George Masih took exception of the fact that Pooja Thakur, a gold medallist in the 2014 Asian Games, was made to run from pillar to post for years for her employment."This is how you encourage sports persons? Somebody won a gold medal in the Asian games of 2014; your chief minister should have a pragmatic approach...This is the approach of the state while dealing with the sports persons," the bench remarked.

The Delhi High Court on Thursday sought the stand of the AAP government on a plea by seven BJP MPs from the city seeking implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in the national capital. A bench headed by Chief Justice Manmohan issued notice to the Delhi government as well as the Centre and the LG on the public interest litigation by the legislators. "Issue notice. Counsel for the respondents prays for and is granted time to file reply on affidavits," the bench, also comprising Justice Manmeet PS Arora, said.

Ex-MP Kadir Rana granted bail in model code of conduct violation cases
Former Member of Parliament Kadir Rana was granted bail in two separate cases of alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct during the Meerapur Assembly by-election, his lawyer said. Rana appeared before the Special MP/MLA Court in Muzaffarnagar on Wednesday where the presiding officer, Devender Singh Fauzdar, approved his bail plea after he furnished a surety bond of Rs 25,000 for each case.
