Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha's wedding festivities began in magnificent style in Udaipur. The groom and baraatis have reached Leela Palace. They received a warm welcome from Parineeti's family. In the viral videos, Raghav was seen being joined by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and several other politicians. The baraat had started from the Taj Lake Palace in their boats. Many guests have reached to attend the wedding ceremony.

Asian Games: India chess team shines in round 1 of Chess tournament

India's Gujarathi Vidit Santosh, Erigaisi Arjun Kumar, Dronavalli Harika and Koneru Humpy clinched a win in the first round of the men's and women's individual chess at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou on Sunday. In the Men's round, Santosh beat Bangladesh's Rahman Mohammad Fahad by 1-0. On the other hand, Arjun defeated the Philippines' Bersamina Paulo by 1-0. In the women's round, Humpy clinched a 1-0 win against Iran's Alinasabalamdari Mobina. Meanwhile, Harika has beaten United Arab Emirates' Alali Rouda also by 1-0.

National Health Authority to host two-day Arogya Manthan event in Delhi

The National Health Authority (NHA) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) are organising 'Arogya Manthan' to celebrate five years of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and two years of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). The two-day event (September 25-26) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi will be filled with insightful discussions and deliberations on challenges, trends, and best practices related to the two schemes. Arogya Manthan 2023 is set to be graced by Union Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya who will deliver the keynote address at the Valedictory Session.

Govt has 'mismanaged' economy across all sectors: Congress

The Congress on Sunday alleged that the government has mismanaged the economy across all sectors and since it is "too inept" in fixing issues such as unemployment and price rise, it is distorting the data instead. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said now that the special session of Parliament is over, it is clear that the Modi government was trying to "distract and divert" the nation from some critical issues "the Adani scam, the caste census and especially the rising unemployment, growing inequality and the economic distress".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the speed and scale of infrastructure development matched the aspirations of 140 crore Indians as he flagged off nine Vande Bharat Express trains connecting religious and tourist destinations across 11 states. Flagging off the Vande Bharat Express trains via video conferencing, Modi also slammed the previous governments for not paying adequate attention for modernisation of railways and assured that the "day is not far when Vande Bharat will connect every part of the country". Governors, chief ministers, Union ministers and elected representatives were present at the nine railway stations from where the indigenously built semi-high speed trains were flagged off.

The Third Missile Cum Ammunition (MCA) Barge, Yard 77 (LSAM 9) was launched by Cmde G Ravi, Warship Production Superintendent (Visakhapatnam), on September 22 at Guttenadeevi, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh (the launch site of M/s SECON), Ministry of Defence said in a statement. With all major and auxiliary equipment/systems sourced from indigenous manufacturers, this barge is a proud flag bearer of the "Make in India" initiatives of the Ministry of Defence.

Indian swimmer Nataraj, women's freestyle relay team advance to Asian Games finals

Indian swimmer Srihari Nataraj on the back of his fine performance reached the men's 100m backstroke final of the ongoing 19th Asian Games on Sunday. With a season-best time of 54.71, Srihari not only impressed in the heats but also secured a spot in the final of the 100m backstroke. The Indian will contest in the final later in the day. Later, the women's 4x100m freestyle relay made the final after clocking 3:53.80 in heat 2. With a fantastic time of 3:53.80, the team of Shivangi Sarma, Dinidhi Desinghu, Maana Patel and Janhvi Choudhary clinched th place in the heats and secured a spot in the final. They will be back in action later in the day.

Death of labourers at BRO project sites: Govt to bear expenses for transportation of mortal remains

The mortal remains of casual labourers of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) who die at work will be transported to their homes on government expense, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Sunday.

Singh made the announcement in a post in Hindi on 'X. The Defence Ministry in a statement earlier in the day said Singh has approved the extension of facility of preservation and transportation of mortal remains, available for General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) personnel of the BRO, to casually paid labourers (CPLs).

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday alleged that the objectionable remark made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ramesh Bidhuri in the Lok Sabha was just another way for the saffron party to distract the people from the idea of the caste census.

"What you're seeing today, Bidhuri, and then suddenly this Nishikant Dubey, this is all the BJP trying to distract from the idea of the Caste census," the Congress leader said while addressing an event in the national capital on Sunday.
