Parents of missing Hindu girl protest for her recovery in Pakistan

Parents of a Hindu girl who went missing in Pakistan's Sindh province in 2021 have staged a protest in Karachi city, seeking her recovery after her 'mysterious' disappearance.
 
Priya Kumari was seven years old when she disappeared mysteriously on August 19, 2021, while serving sherbet to a Muharram Ashura procession near her house in Sangrar, a small town near Sukkur in Pakistan's southern Sindh province.
 
Her grief-stricken and tired parents, Raj Kumar Pal and his wife Veena Kumari, staged a protest on Friday at the famous Teen Talwar landmark in Karachi's Clifton area to remind people that their daughter had still not been recovered.

Prime Minister Modi expressed his grief at Pujari's demise.
 
"She made a monumental contribution to agriculture, particularly boosting organic agricultural practices and protecting indigenous seeds. Her work in enriching sustainability and protecting biodiversity will be remembered for years. She was also a beacon in empowering the tribal communities," he said on X.
 
She was 74 and is survived by two sons and two daughters.

Gonda accident: Joint probe blames improper fastening of track; Railways calls it premature

A five-member team of senior railway officials investigating the derailment of Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express has blamed improper fastening of the rail track for the accident, reported PTI citing sources. One member of the panel disagreed with the opinion, while a Railway spokesperson said the findings were premature.
 
"The fastening of rail track was not proper due to which fastening was working ineffectively," the report, written in Hindi, said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that they would be creating a record by planting over 36 crore saplings across the state.
 
Addressing a mega plantation campaign, he reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign of calling all countrymen to plant one tree in the name of Mother (ek ped maa ke naam) on World Environment Day on June 5.
 
He said that the environmentalists are worried that global warming will create a new crisis for the world. This crisis has been created by human selfishness, so the responsibility of controlling it should also be on humans.
 
"The total population of UP is 25 crore, we are going to break the record by planting 36.50 crore saplings. In such a situation, three trees are going to be planted in the name of every mother power in UP within a day today. About 12 crore saplings have been planted since morning. We have to plant trees, save them and preserve the environment," Adityanath said.
