PM Modi to launch infra projects, agri schemes in Maharashtra on Saturday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Saturday inaugurate infrastructure projects worth Rs 32,180 crore in election-bound Maharashtra.

The projects include the first phase of Mumbai Metro Line 3 Aqua Line, which is built at a cost of Rs 14,120 crore. The overall cost of the project is said to be Rs 37,276 crore.
 
The metro line is estimated to ferry 1.3 million passengers daily, officials at the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) said. The PM will also lay the foundation stone of the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail project, which is estimated to cost Rs 12,200 crore. The total length of the project is 29 km, which will have 20 elevated and two underground stations, according to a release from the PM’s Office (PMO).

The project, being built at equal partnership between the Centre and Maharashtra as well as part-funding from bilateral agencies, was approved by the Union Cabinet in August and is expected to commence operations by 2029.
 
The PM is also scheduled to launch the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension, a road infrastructure project in Thane, worth Rs 3,310 crore.  Also, Modi will lay the foundation stone of Phase 1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area project worth around Rs 2,550 crore. The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra is the special planning authority for the project. 
The PM will kick off the construction of the Thane Municipal Corporation, which will cost around Rs 700 crore.
 
Additionally, the PM is scheduled to launch several initiatives related to the agricultural and animal husbandry sectors worth about Rs 23,300 crore in Washim district in Vidarbha, before reaching Thane. 

 
PM to release 18th instalment of Rs 20,000 crore under PM-KISAN

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release Rs 20,000 crore as the 18th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme on Saturday, benefiting over 94 million farmers across the country.
 
Disbursements will be through Direct Benefit Transfer during an event in Washim, an official statement said. Maharashtra farmers will receive an additional Rs 2,000 crore under the state's Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana. With the 18th instalment, the total amount disbursed under PM-KISAN will exceed Rs 3.45 trillion, supporting more than 110 million farmers nationwide.

Maharashtra has received about Rs 32,000 crore in 17 instalments, benefiting around 12 million farmers, the second highest among all states. Around 9.15 million farmers in Maharashtra will receive over Rs 1,900 crore in the 18th instalment.
