Gold price dips Rs 10 to Rs 62,940, silver falls Rs 100 to Rs 74,800

The price of 24-carat gold slipped Rs 10 in early trade on Monday, with ten grams of the precious metal selling at Rs 62,940, according to the GoodReturns website. The price of silver declined Rs 100, with one kilogram of the precious metal selling at Rs 74,400.

The price of 22-carat gold also fell Rs 10 with the yellow metal selling at Rs 57,690.

The price of ten grams of 24-carat gold in Mumbai is in line with prices in Kolkata and Hyderabad, at Rs 62,940.

In Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, the price of ten grams of 24-carat gold stood at Rs 63,090, Rs 62,940, and Rs 63,480, respectively.
 

In Mumbai, the price of ten grams of 22-carat gold is at par with that in Kolkata and Hyderabad, at Rs 57,690.

In Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, ten grams of 22-carat gold are selling at Rs 57,840, Rs 57,690, and Rs 58,190, respectively. 

US gold prices inched down today, pressured by a firmer dollar, while investors awaited further clues on the US Federal Reserve's timing of this year's first interest rate cut.

Spot gold was down 0.3 per cent at $2,030.9 per ounce, as of 0100 GMT. U.S. gold futures edged 0.4 per cent lower to $2,040.6 per ounce.

Spot platinum was down 0.4 per cent at $896.95 per ounce, palladium fell 0.3 per cent at $968.23, while silver lost 0.4 per cent at $22.86 per ounce.

In Delhi and Mumbai, one kilogram of silver is currently trading at Rs 74,800. 

In Chennai, one kilogram of silver is trading at Rs 76,300.
