ALERT: TotalEnergies SE in talks to invest in Adani Green's RE projects, reports Bloomberg

TotalEnergies SE is in talks to invest in renewable energy projects developed by Adani Green Energy Ltd.

Total is looking to buy stakes in some of Adani Green’s projects as part of its drive to expand its portfolio of clean energy projects.

The French group could invest about $700 million in total into the projects, sources told Bloomberg.

VIEW: Indecision prevails near all-time highs

Nifty opened with a gap up and made a fresh all-time high of 20,168 but fell sharply for a brief period and consolidated in the 20,050-20,110 range for major part of the day before closing at 20,103, up 33 points.

 

The price made a fresh high today but the put-call ratio (PCR), known as the sentiment indicator, fell from 1.52 on 13th September to 1.45 Thursday (today,) indicating put writers’ unwillingness to build positions at all-time highs.

 

The Nifty has struggled to demonstrate any signs of gaining momentum since surpassing its previous all-time high of 19,992 on September 11th. Both the call and put writers have built aggressive positions at 20,100 Strike and the option activity in this strike will set the tone for next leg of rally in Nifty.

August industrial output, retail sales growth in China beat expectations

Retail sales grew by 4.6% in August from a year ago, beating expectations for 3% growth forecast by a Reuters poll. This was also higher than July's 2.5% YoY rise.

Industrial production grew by 4.5% in August from a year ago, better than the 3.9% forecast and faster than the 3.7% increase reported for July.
