Stock Market LIVE Updates: Markets in the Asia-Pacific region were trading mostly higher on Wednesday, tracking the overnight gains on Wall Street. 

Japan’s Nikkei 225 climbed 1.35 per cent, while the Topix gained 1.09 per cent. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 was down 0.28 per cent.

South Korea’s Kospi was up 0.47 per cent, while the small-cap Kosdaq was higher by 0.95 per cent.

China’s CSI 300 was trading 0.2 per cent higher, and the Shanghai Composite was higher by 0.27 per cent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index was up 0.38 per cent.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Wall Street indices rose on Wednesday after an in-line inflation reading kept intact bets on the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates later this month.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 99.27 points, or 0.22 per cent, to 44,148.56, the S&P 500 rose 49.28 points, or 0.82 per cent, to 6,084.19 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 347.65 points, or 1.77 per cent, to 20,034.89.
