The consortium of Maharashtra’s state-owned Mahagenco and public sector NTPC has emerged as the frontrunner to acquire the 1,350 MW Sinnar Thermal Power Plant near Nashik, according to a reports.
 

Their bid of Rs 3,800 crore has positioned them ahead of Adani Power, the second-highest bidder, whose bid was reportedly below Rs 3,000 crore. Lenders are currently assessing the legal and regulatory compliance of each bid before initiating negotiations with individual bidders, the report said. Read more

Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) followed at 1.14 times, and retail investors at 0.44 times. Meanwhile, the employee reserve quota was fully subscribed 1.37 times.
