Stock Market LIVE Updates: Mark Mobius, Chairman, Mobius Emerging Equities, on Indian markets

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Mark Mobius, on stocks in India, says going forward, I want to look at companies that have an orientation towards the semiconductor industry.

Unfortunately, we've not been able to isolate such companies, but we're going to look at those very carefully.

I believe, India is going to become a big competitor, not only in low-end chips, but high-end chips as well.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Mark Mobius, Chairman, Mobius Emerging Markets Fund, on Indian markets

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Mark Mobius, on sectors in India, says I'd look at export-oriented companies, because of the currency situation, and also because India is becoming more and more a competitor against Chinese exports.

We should also remember that India continues to have a per capita income rise, so I'm not writing off consumer oriented industries, which includes housing, consumer products, etc.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Mark Mobius, Chairman, Mobius Emerging Markets Fund, on Indian markets

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Mark Mobius, on the incoming Trump administration, says Trump is going to lower taxes, cut out a lot of paperwork in doing business in India, which is not only going to help US industry, but also Indian industry doing business in the US.

THis is going to be a big boost, not only for the US, but for the world.

There's also going to be a demonstration effect, where countries around the world look at the US, see the way bureaucracy is being cut, see wasteful spending is cut from the budget, and they're going to think, hey, maybe we should be doing that as well.

It is going to be very intersting development going forward, and India stands to benefit more than any other country in the world, because it's a natural choice after China for manufacturing, and the reforms taking place under Modi are having a big impact. It's going to be a very good partnership that India will have with the US.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Mark Mobius, Chairman, Mobius Emerging Markets Fund, on Indian markets

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Mark Mobius, says on American exceptionalism, if a country is going at 6-7 per cent, companies will be growing at double that rate. Good companies with high return on capital will be growing at 14-15 per cent, even 20 per cent.

Increase in price of 20 per cent more than accomodates the value you have in IT stocks. They will continue to go up if these earnings continue to go in the direction we've seen them going in.

For companies that are exporting, like Infosys, they are going to become more competitive due to a weakening rupee.

You've to look at companies that have a USD income component, they will continue to do very very good.

I think, we're at the cusp of more exports coming out of India, not only in the area of software, but also manufacturing.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Mark Mobius, Chairman, Mobius Emerging Markets Fund, on CNBC TV18

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Mark Mobius, says the Indian rupee has gotten weaker and US investors have to look at that factor; what the impact of that on their portfolios will be.

The rupee value of the index will more than make up for the devaluation of the rupee agains the USD.

Going forward, you'll see a very good market in India.

India is going to benefit from the Trump administration, because the Trump administration will not favour the Chinese markets.

If you look at the global picture, where else can investors go overseas? Where are the best places?

India comes up all the time, because of the incredible growth of the country, the reforms taking place under the current government;  and simply because there's so much value in the market; companies with very high return on capital.

I'm continuing to be very optimistic on India.
