Solarson Industries (SIL) was incorporated on 8 Oct.'86 as Solarson Burners. On 11 Feb.'92, its name was changed to the present one. SIL was promoted in the joint sector by Genelec along with PICUP for setting up a plant for the manufacture of burners for high-pressure sodium vapour (HPSV) lamps. When Osram GEC, UK, failed to supply equipment, Lumenarc, US, supplied the same. In Mar.'89, Genelec was acquired by the Chhabrias, who withdrew from the project. PICUP entered into an agreement with the B P Bajoria group to implement the project.
