Jammu, June 18 (ANI): Ahead of International Yoga Day, Indian Army soldiers are practicing yoga in Jammu to generate awareness about the ancient discipline among the people. Over 100 army soldiers demonstrated their yoga skills at a camp aimed at achieving mental peace in dangerous terrain while guarding the country's borders. The United Nations (UN) declared June 21 as International Day of Yoga after adopting a measure proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi in his speech at the United General Assembly in September last year called for recognition for such a day. The Indian Government has drawn up extensive plans to promote yoga on June 21. Over 100,000 camps will be set up for people to do yoga on that day. The Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, which promotes yoga, has planned to set a world record for the largest yoga class.
