COVID-19: Wildlife dept issues advisory asking people to not to venture into forest

Srinagar (JandK), Apr 27 (ANI): The department of Wildlife Protection Jammu and Kashmir has issued an advisory asking people not to venture into forest areas in wake of COVID-19 pandemic. The advisory has been issued in view of COVID-19 case in animals. Wildlife department has sounded high alert in all wildlife areas advising people especially those living near forests to not venture into forest areas. The advisory has been issued after a tiger was tested positive for COVID-19 in New York. As people living in adjoining areas of Dachigam National Park are dealing with animal production activities including sheep farming are always need to visit forest areas. So traditionally and as per the requirement people both men and women visits forest areas to collect the fire wood grass for the animals including sheep, goats and cows since decades. But due to the COVID-19 threat atmosphere is not suitable for such activities.
