DDA revives Neela Hauz biodiversity park

New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has given a fresh lease of life to the Neela Hauz Biodiversity Park, which is located on the south central ridge and is spread over an area of ten acres. The park is is situated near Jawaharlal Nehru University. Earlier, the Neela Hauz Lake was in danger of shrinking due to the construction of a bridge over it. The DDA took responsibility to revive the dead lake through a constructed wetland. The lake is critical to maintain water levels in south Delhi, especially the Mehrauli block, where the water table has fallen drastically. Walking trails have also been developed around the lake. Since its revival, more than 70 bird species have been sighted at Neela Hauz.
