Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWREL) on Thursday reported a manifold rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 55 crore in the March quarter, on account of higher income.
It had posted a net profit of Rs 1.40 crore in the January-March period of the preceding 2023-24 fiscal year, the company said in an exchange filing.
During the fourth quarter of FY25, the company's total income surged to Rs 2,506.45 crore from Rs 1,211.40 crore in the same period a year ago.
Expenses stood at Rs 2,419.73 crore as against Rs 1,177.66 crore in the fourth quarter last fiscal.
For the entire financial year 2024-25, SWREL reported a net profit of Rs 85.55 crore.
It had a loss of Rs 210.79 crore in FY24.
Total income rose to Rs 6,341.46 crore in the fiscal, from Rs 3,120.79 crore a year ago.

Western Railway on Thursday announced a 35-hour mega block on its suburban corridor for regirdering work of a bridge between Kandivali and Borivali.
The block over the weekend will affect running of suburban and long distance trains, an official said.  In a release issued this evening, WR said the block was for regirdering work of bridge number 61 on the 5th line, Carshed line and Kandivali Traffic Yard line.  "The mega block is commence at 1 pm on April 26 and end at midnight in the intervening night of April 27 and 28," it said.  Vineet Abhishek, chief public relations officer of Western Railway, said during the block period, suburban services and Mail/ Express trains running on the 5th line will be operated on fast lines.
"Also, a few Mail/ Express trains will be affected while some suburban services will remain cancelled. Around 73 suburban services will remain cancelled due to the block on Saturday, while around 90 suburban services will remain cancelled on Sunday," he said.  Tw

Two men were booked for allegedly impersonating pony service providers using fake documents on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi route in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, officials said.
During routine patrolling near Shri Geeta Mata Mandir, police team intercepted a man identifying as one Puran Singh. On verifying, police found his name to be Manir Hussain.
He was using someone else's authorised service card to operate illegally, police said, adding that an FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered at Katra Police Station.
In a similar case near Ban Ganga bridge, police caught Sahil Khan, who was from Kotli in Jammu district, for allegedly operating a pony service without any valid license.
He admitted that he had no authorisation and a case was registered, police said.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Friday presented a Rs 40,187 crore-budget for the megapolis.
Infrastructure spends across projects have been pegged at Rs 35,151 crore or 87 per cent of the overall expenditure, as per an official statement. The revenues have been estimated at Rs 36,939 crore, and the body chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will be borrowing Rs 22,000 crore.
This will result in a budget deficit of Rs 3,249 crore, which the body plans to bridge through land sales, issuance of bonds, financial assistance from the government, and loans from financial institutions, the statement said.

The Rajya Sabha on Thursday returned the Finance Bill 2025 to the Lok Sabha, along with 35 government amendments, including one that abolishes a 6 per cent digital tax on online advertisements, thus completing the 2025-26 budgetary exercise that started on February 1.
The House also returned the Appropriation Bill (3) with a voice vote.
Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had moved the two bills in the House.
The Lok Sabha had passed the Finance Bill on March 25 and passed the Appropriation Bill on March 21.
Replying to the debate later in the evening, she said the tendency of the finance ministry would be to exercise caution and not let go of revenues.
"But, here we wanted to use this opportunity to show our respect for Indian taxpayer. We have moved towards setting Rs 12 lakh as threshold up to which no one will have to pay any tax," Sitharaman said.
