Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman last presented the Union Budget on July 5, 2019 for financial year 2020-21. This was after the Narendra Modi government won an endorsement from the voters in elections. That Budget also included certain announcements for the markets and they did not go down well with the indices. BSE Sensex fell by nearly 800 points on the day and the government had to make quick changes to assure the markets in the following days.

What will Budget 2020 hold for the markets? While the markets were spooked by FPI tax, increase in minimum public shareholding to 35% and the 20% tax on share buy backs for listed companies last time around, are they worried about more such measures this time?

Will the government provide some relief on the Long Terms Capital Gains tax or the Dividend Distribution tax fronts? How can they help the markets?

What are the top three things that the markets will be looking for in Budget 2020? Puneet Wadhwa explains in this podcast. Listen to the podcast for more.
