3 dead, 8 rescued in building collapse in Gujarat's Jamnagar

Three persons including a woman and a four-year-old boy died after a three-storey residential building collapsed in Jamnagar city of Gujarat on Friday evening, officials said. The nearly 30-year-old building located in Sadhana colony area, constructed by the Gujarat Housing Board, was in a dilapidated condition, locals claimed.

BJP leader Amarinder Singh on Friday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his "successful" visit to the United States and said he has provided a new direction and leadership to Indian diplomacy "which was lacking so far".

"Whether it is maintaining strategic and diplomatic independence or maintaining strong and positive relations with friendly nations, PM Modi has drawn a perfect balance," Singh said in a statement.

This has really happened for the first time in India's diplomatic history, he said.

RBI imposes penalty on J&K Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Axis Bank

The Reserve Bank on Friday said it has imposed a penalty of Rs 2.5 crore on Jammu and Kashmir Bank for non-compliance with certain directions, including one related to 'time-bound implementation and strengthening of SWIFT-related operational controls'. A penalty of Rs 1.45 crore has also been imposed on Bank of Maharashtra for non-compliance with certain directions issued by RBI on Loans and Advances Statutory and Other Restrictions' and Advisory on Man in the Middle (MiTM) Attacks in ATMs'.

Steel Minister Scindia inaugurates SAIL's Rs 149-cr beneficiation plant in Chhattisgarh

Union Steel Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia on Friday inaugurated a Rs 149-crore beneficiation project of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) at Kanker in Chhattisgarh.The minister virtually inaugurated the SAIL's Silica Reduction Plant set up at the company's Dalli iron ore mines. In his address, Scindia said the new plant is an important milestone as it will help the steel maker utilise the low-grade ore from the Dalli mines through the beneficiation process.

UP CM Adityanath unveils MotoGP Bharat first ticket, cheapest ticket to cost Rs 800

The tickets for the inaugural MotoGP Bharat to be held in Greater Noida in September range from Rs 800 to 40,000. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath on Friday unveiled the tickets sales for the premier two-wheel racing competition to be held at the Buddh International Circuit from September 22 to 24. As reported by PTI earlier this month, the lowest denomination of tickets are from Rs 800 in order to cater to the mass audience. The Main Grandstand ticket prices range between Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000, depending on the tier a fan would prefer with a centre stage view.
