At least three schools hit by bomb threat emails have turned out to be a victims of their own students, Delhi Police has discovered.
One of the several schools that received bomb threats was Venkateshwar Global School, which received a threatening email a day after a mysterious blast occurred at the Rohini Prashant Vihar PVR Multiplex on November 28.
A police officer said the email was sent by two siblings enrolled in the school because they wanted the exams to be postponed.
During counselling, both students revealed that they had got the idea from previous incidents of bomb threats being made to schools, the officer said.
They were allowed to go after their parents were given a warning.
After the email was reported, police conducted a thorough check of the school and declared the threat to be a hoax.
According to another police officer, two more schools located in Rohini and Paschim Vihar were sent threatening emails by their students.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Saturday announced an internship named after him, aimed at providing city's youths with hands-on experience in leadership, public engagement, and election campaigns.
According to a statement, 'Internship with Manish Sisodia' offers college students and young professionals an opportunity to work closely with his team during the upcoming Delhi Assembly election.
"If you are interested in leadership and want to understand how leaders think, work, and run election campaigns, this program is for you," Sisodia said, according to the statement.
"It will provide insight into how public issues are addressed, teams are built, and meaningful dialogue with citizens is conducted. I welcome the youth of Delhi to join my election class and work alongside me during this campaign," he added.
The internship will be effective from the date of shortlisting until February 28, 2025, or the end of the Delhi Assembly elections 2025, whichever is earlier, the statement said.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday allocated portfolios to his council of ministers, retaining the crucial Home department with him.
Fadnavis will also handle Energy, Law and Judiciary, General Administration Department and Information and Publicity departments, an official statement said here.  Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been allocated Urban Development, Housing and Public Works Department (public enterprises).  Ajit Pawar, another deputy CM, got Finance and Planning, State Excise.  The portfolios were allocated after the weeklong winter  session of the state Legislature ended here earlier in the day.
As many as 39 ministers had been sworn in on December 15, before the start of the session, while  Fadnavis and his two deputies had taken the oath of office on December 5.  The Mahayuti alliance of the BJP, NCP and Shiv Sena swept the November 20 assembly elections, winning 230 of 288 seats.
