India concluded a three-month-long mega naval exercise in the Indian Ocean that featured more than 65 warships, 10 submarines and over 80 aircraft amid China's increasing maritime activities in the region.
The theatre of operations for the exercise was from the Strait of Hormuz in the West to the Sunda and Lombok Straits in the East.
The Indian Navy said the Theatre Level Operational Exercise (TROPEX) marked the successful culmination of an intense operational campaign designed to assess the force's operational preparedness and material readiness for combat.
It reaffirmed the Navy's commitment to remain a "combat-ready, credible, cohesive and future-ready force", it said.
"TROPEX witnessed participation of 65-70 Indian Naval ships, 9-10 submarines and over 80 aircraft of different types," the Navy said.
"The exercise achieved a very high level of operational synergy in planning and execution of theatre level scenarios with the other services," it said.

Why was Pope Francis hospitalized in the first place?
The pope was hospitalised February 14 after suffering from weeks of bronchitis that made it increasingly hard for him to speak. Several days later, Vatican authorities said he had a complex infection in his respiratory system requiring more targeted treatment.
The pope then developed pneumonia in both lungs and began receiving steroid and antibiotics, among other treatments.

Foreign investors continue to pull back money from the Indian equity market, withdrawing Rs 24,753 crore (about USD 2.8 billion) in the first week of March amid escalating global trade tensions and lacklustre corporate earnings.
This came following an outflow of Rs 34,574 crore from equities in February and Rs 78,027 crore in January.
The total outflow by FPIs has reached Rs 1.37 lakh crore in 2025 so far, data with the depositories showed.
According to the data with the depositories, Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) offloaded shares worth Rs 24,753 crore from Indian equities this month (till March 7).
This also marks the 13th consecutive week of net outflows. Since December 13, 2024, FPIs have offloaded equity shares to the tune of USD 17.1 billion.
The sustained selling by overseas investors is chiefly due to a combination of global and domestic factors.
A major catalyst continues to be the escalation in global trade tensions, which significantly weigh on investor sentiment.

Doctors said Monday that Pope Francis is no longer in imminent danger of death as a result of pneumonia but have decided to keep him hospitalised for several more days to receive treatment.
In a late update, the doctors said the 88-year-old pope remains stable and has consolidated improvements in recent days, as determined by blood tests and positive responses to drug treatments.
However, in view of the complexity of the clinical picture and the important infectious picture presented on admission, it will be necessary to continue medical drug therapy in a hospital setting for additional days, according to the Vatican statement.
Francis followed the Vatican's week-long spiritual retreat via video-conference on Monday as he continued his recovery from double pneumonia and looked ahead to the 12th anniversary of his election amid questions about what the future of his papacy might look like.
