Day 4 | Olympics 2024 LIVE UPDATES: Shooting - Manu & Sarabjot's Bronze medal match at 1 PM IST

India's Manu Bhaker & Sarabjot Singh will be in action at 1 PM IST. 

In the Bronze medal match, they will up against South Korea's Wonho Lee and Ye Lin Oh. 

The shooters from South Korea are known for their accuracy and mental resilience at the shooting range. 

The Indian duo, who missed the second place in the qualification round by just one point, will certainly have put up their A game in the Bronze medal match today.

Day 1 of women's trap event has also started. India's Shreyasi Singh and Rajeshwari are in action. 

Like the men's event, top six athletes in the qualification round will qualify for the finals.

India's Prithviraj will begin his campaign in Men's Trap qualification event. This is the second day of the event. On first day of qualification round, Prithviraj is at the 30th position.

Notably, top six shooters will qualify for the finals. 

Prithviraj has to do alot of work.

Day 4 | Olympics 2024 LIVE UPDATES: Govt spent Rs 2 crore on Manu Bhaker's training - Sports Minister

While lauding shooter Manu Bhaker for her historic bronze medal in the Paris Olympics 2024, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya revealed that approximately Rs 2 crore was invested in Bhaker's training, while speaking with news agency ANI on Monday.

"Around Rs 2 crore was spent on Manu Bhaker's training. She was sent to Germany and Switzerland for training. Financial help was provided which was needed for her to hire a coach who she wanted. We are providing this ecosystem to all athletes so that they give best performance at national and international competitions. I am confident that our athletes will perform well in the Paris Olympics too," Mandaviya stated, expressing confidence in the overall performance of Indian athletes at the Paris Olympics.

Can Manu bhaker Inspire India to another bronze medal?

Wiping off the bad memories of the Tokyo 2020 Games, Manu Bhaker won a historic bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol event and won India their first medal in Paris. She will be raring to go in yet another medal match and will be pose a definite threat to the Koreans.
 
At the young age of 22, Manu has already amassed a commendable collection of medals, including a World Championships gold medal. However, she considers her greatest achievement to be Olympics bronze medal, which has etched her name in India's history books.

Day 4 | Olympics 2024 LIVE UPDATES: Will Manu gets historic double today?

Becoming the first ever Indian woman to win a medal in shooting at the Olympic Games, Manu Bhaker will be walking in with a high morale for the second bronze medal. The Indian shooting duo qualified for the match after finishing third in the qualification round with a score of 580, just one point below the second-placed team.

If Manu Bhaker wins today's bronze medal match, then she will become first Indian woman to win two medals in one Summer Olympic Games.
 
Their bronze medal match oppoenents will be South Korea's Oh Ye Jin and Lee Wonho. India's other team in the event, consisting of Rhythm Sangwan and Arjun Singh Cheema missed out on the finals. They finished 10th in the qualification round.
