Matchday 32 of the Pro Kabaddi League 2024 saw two exiciting matches. In the first match of the night Puneri Paltan and UP Yoddhas played the fifth tie match of the season, while in the second match three time champions Patna Pirates beat Bengaluru Bulls to jump to the third spot in the points table.
PKL 2024 first match on November 19: Puneri Paltan vs UP Yoddhas
Puneri Paltan and UP Yoddhas played out an intense stalemate with a 29-29 scoreline at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Monday. Bhavani Rajput shone for UP Yoddhas, registering a Super 10, while Pankaj Mohite contributed nine points for Puneri Paltan in a fiercely contested encounter.
The defending champions Puneri Paltan started strong, with Mohite registering the first tackle to open the scoring as they surged to a 4-0 lead within three minutes. UP Yoddhas got off the mark through a Super Tackle by Ashu Singh, leveling the game at 5-5 shortly after. A three-point lead from Puneri Paltan was soon neutralised by another Super Tackle from Sumit, and UP Yoddhas capitalised on their momentum, inflicting an ALL OUT to take a six-point advantage. However, Puneri Paltan fought back before halftime, with V Ajith Kumar’s two-point raid reducing the deficit to 16-14 at the break.
The second half began cautiously, but Bhavani Rajput and Pankaj Mohite exchanged crucial Do-or-Die raids, keeping the game finely poised at 20-20 with ten minutes remaining. Puneri Paltan then regained the lead, courtesy of Mohit’s tackle on Rajput and Mohite’s offensive efforts. Gaurav Khatri’s tackle helped inflict an ALL OUT, pushing Puneri Paltan ahead by five points. Despite this, Rajput’s two-point raid and relentless performance in the final moments ensured UP Yoddhas stayed in contention. He completed his Super 10, equalising in the dying seconds to secure a draw. This marked Puneri Paltan’s second tie in three matches and the fifth draw of the season.
PKL 2024 second match on November 19: Bengaluru Bulls vs Patna Pirates
In the second match of the day Patna Pirates in a one sided affair beat Bengaluru Bulls by 54-31. Patna with the help of Devak (16 raid points) and Ayan (11 raid points) in raiding and Arkam Sheikh (4 tackle points) and Ankit Jaglan (4 tackle points) in defense secured their seventh win of the season and are now the third ranked team in the competion with 38 points in 11 matches.
