Anantnag

Following the delimitation exercise, the Anantnag West seat was carved out by merging parts of the previous Devsar, Anantnag, Homeshalibugh, and Dooru constituencies. Since the constituency is newly formed, none of the candidates have represented it before, making the outcome unpredictable. The four main contenders are Peerzada Mohammad Sayed from the NC-Congress alliance, Dr. Mehboob Beigh of PDP, Hilal Ahmad Shah of Apni Party, and independent Peer Mansoor.

In the 2014 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, PDP leader Mufti Mohammad Sayeed won the Anantnag seat with a margin of 6,028 votes, securing 16,983 votes in total with a 51.20 per cent
