Ashok Leyland progressing in network expansion in North & East: Official

Heavy commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland has drawn up network expansion plans in the North and Eastern parts of the country, a top company official has said. The Hinduja Group flagship company was also gearing up to launch its electric light commercial vehicles (LCVs) within the next few months. Ashok Leyland in the first nine months of the financial year ending December 31, 2023 reported its highest turnover of Rs 27,100 crore, highest sales volume at 1,38,416 units, EBITDA of Rs 3,014 crore and Profit After Tax of Rs 1,718 crore. "While we have started doing very well now in the North and East zones which have been traditionally our weaker markets, there is certainly ample headroom to grow further. Ashok Leyland reports 45% rise in total sales to 18,138 units in Dec 2022

Commercial vehicles maker Ashok Leyland on Monday reported a 45 per cent increase in total sales at 18,138 units in December 2022. The company had registered total sales of 12,518 units in the same month a year ago, it said in a statement. Domestic sales were higher by 49 per cent last month at 17,112 units as compared to 11,493 units in December 2021. Exports were flat at 1,026 units last month as against 1,025 units in the previous year.

Ashok Leyland October total sales rise 34% to 14,863 units, exports decline

Commercial vehicles maker Ashok Leyland on Tuesday reported a 34 per cent rise in total sales at 14,863 units in October 2022. The company had sold 11,079 units in the same month last year, Ashok Leyland said in a statement. Domestic sales were at 13,860 units, as against 10,043 units in the year-ago month, registering a growth of 38 per cent, it added. Exports were marginally down at 1,003 units, as compared to 1,036 units in October last year.

CV maker Ashok Leyland's sales jump 58% in July to 13,625 units

Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland on Monday said its total vehicle sales, including exports, jumped 58 per cent year-on-year to 13,625 units in July. The company had sold a total of 8,650 vehicles in the same month last year, Ashok Leyland said in a statement. Sales of Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV), which include trucks and buses, rose 113 per cent to 8,148 units last month compared to 3,822 units sold in July 2021. The Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment sales also increased 13 per cent to 5,477 units last month in comparison to July 2021 sales of 4,828 vehicles, Ashok Leyland said. Total domestic sales (M&HCV+LCV) during the previous month stood at 12,715 units, an increase of 56 per cent over 8,129 units in July 2021, the company said.

Ashok Leyland reports 125% growth in total sales; 14,351 units sold in June

Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland on Friday reported 125 per cent growth in total sales at 14,351 units in June as compared to the year-ago period. The company had registered a total sales of 6,448 units in June 2021, Ashok Leyland said in a statement. The total M&HCV sales, including exports, rose 238 per cent at 9,354 units in June 2022 as against 2,764 units in June 2021. The LCV total sales during the period under review stood at 5,177 units, which was 41 per cent higher compared to 3,684 units in the same month of 2021, it said. M&HCV domestic sales, including buses, grew 255 per cent at 8,399 units. The same stood at 2,364 units in the preceding year.

Ashok Leyland total vehicle sales rise 17% to 20,123 units in March

Hinduja Group flagship Ashok Leyland on Friday reported a 17 per cent year-on-year growth in its total vehicle sales, including exports, at 20,123 units in March. The company had sold a total of 17,231 vehicles in March 2021, Ashok Leyland said in a statement. Total Medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) sales spiked 26 per cent to 13,990 units in March 2022, as compared to 11,101 units in March 2021. Total LCV sales during the reporting month stood flat at 6,133 units, it stated. The company had sold a total of 6,130 light commercial vehicles (LCVs) in March 2021. Total domestic sales grew 18 per cent in the previous month to 18,556 units, as against 15,761 units clocked in March 2021, with M&HCV sales recording 29 per cent growth at 12,734 units, while the LCV sales declined 1 per cent at 5,822 units, as against 5,860 units sold in March 2021, as per the statement.
