Skoda Auto India posts over two-fold rise in sales at 3,027 units in Sep

Skoda Auto India on Friday reported an over two-fold increase in sales at 3,027 units in September 2021, riding on its newly launched SUV Kushaq. The company had sold 1,312 units in the same month last year, Skoda Auto India said in a statement. While Kushaq has fueled the growth for the brand in India, other models such as Superb, Octavia and Rapid have also contributed to the increase in sales volumes, it added. The company had launched the midsize SUV Kushaq in June this year priced between Rs 10.5 lakh and Rs 17.6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The model crossed the 10,000 bookings milestone in September 2021, it said. Commenting on the sales performance, Skoda Auto India Brand Director Zac Hollis said, "Skoda Auto India has managed to consolidate and move forward in September, despite the headwinds that the industry is facing in terms of some key components." Kia Sonet crosses 100,000 cumulative sales mark in less than one year

Kia India on Tuesday said its compact SUV Sonet has crossed one lakh cumulative sales mark in less than one year of its launch in the market. During the same period, the vehicle has also become the fourth highest-selling SUV in the country, the automaker said in a statement. Introduced in September 2020, Sonet has emerged as a breakthrough product in its segment, contributing almost 17 per cent to the segment and 32 per cent to Kia's overall sales, it added. Maruti Suzuki Swift crosses 2.5 million cumulative sales milestone

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Tuesday said its premium hatchback Swift has crossed 25 lakh cumulative sales milestone in over 16 years of its launch in the country. The model, which was the country's leading model in terms of sales in the last fiscal, has transcended its records by clocking cumulative sales of 2.5 million units, MSI said in a statement. Swift had created the premium hatchback segment in the country with its launch in 2005.
