Sundram Fasteners Q4 results: Net profit surges to Rs 134.41 crore

Auto component maker Sundram Fasteners Ltd has reported its highest ever consolidated net profit for the March 2024 quarter at Rs 134.41 crore on account of strong operational performance. The Chennai-based company had registered consolidated net profit of Rs 127.47 crore, during the corresponding quarter of last year. For the year ending March 31, 2024 the net profit surged to Rs 525.64 crore, as compared to Rs 500.35 crore registered a year ago. Total revenue during the quarter under review grew to Rs 1,477.70 crore, as compared to Rs 1,451.46 crore registered in the same period of last year. For the year ending March 31, 2024, the consolidated revenues remained flat at Rs 5,720.47 crore as against Rs 5,707.60 crore registered in the same period of last year. Toyota reports booming profit, vows to invest to keep growth going

Toyota doubled its net profit in the fiscal year that ended in March, as strong vehicles sales and a favorable exchange rate lifted results for Japan's top automaker. Toyota Motor Corp.'s annual profit totaled 4.9 trillion yen ($31.9 billion), up from 2.45 trillion yen the year before, while its sales jumped 21% to 45 trillion yen ($290 billion), the company said Wednesday. The results exceeded than Toyota's own projection for a 4.5 trillion yen ($29 billion) profit, as its global sales surged to 9.4 million vehicles from 8.8 million vehicles in the previous fiscal year. Sales of hybrids performed well, although Toyota stressed it was working hard to offer various kinds of electric vehicles, including battery EVs, plug-ins and fuel cell models. Mahindra, Tata Motors receive record number of patent approvals in FY24

Domestic automobile majors Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors have received a record number of patent approvals for a wide spectrum of product and process innovations in the last financial year. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) received 674 approvals, its best-ever annual performance, while Tata Motors also witnessed the grant of 333 patents during the 2023-24 financial year. M&M said it has received a record 674 patents in 2023-24, with the majority coming in from the Indian Patent office.
