Bhupinder Singh Hooda is an Indian National Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Haryana. He is the Leader of the Opposition in Haryana Legislative assembly. He is also a Member of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana. Bhupinder Singh Hooda was born in Sanghi village in Rohtak, Haryana. His father Ranbir Singh Hooda was a freedom fighter.

He started his political career from Youth Congress. He was elected as a member of parliament from Rohtak Lok Sabha constituency for four terms in 1991, 1996, 1998, 2004. He also served as the Leader of Opposition in Haryana Legislative Assembly

Haryana Cong forms committee to find out 'malpractices' in Assembly polls

The Haryana Congress on Monday formed an eight-member committee to find out, what the party alleged, "malpractices and manipulations" in the recently held state assembly polls "at the behest" of the ruling BJP, leading to its "dismal performance." The committee was led by former MLA Karan Singh Dalal and it also comprises Nuh MLA Aftab Ahmed, former MLA Jaiveer Singh Valmiki, according to an office order issued by the Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan. Cong holds review meet on Haryana poll defeat, to set up fact-finding team

The Congress top brass on Thursday held a review meeting on the party's shock defeat in Haryana Assembly polls and decided to form a fact-finding team that will speak to all its candidates to find out the reasons for the debacle. The counting of votes polled in the October 5 assembly elections in Haryana began at 8 am on Tuesday amid tight security arrangements. Officials said early trends were expected at some time. Congress' CEC clears 34 names of candidates for Haryana Assembly polls

The Congress' Central Election Committee met here on Monday and finalised the names of 34 candidates for the assembly polls in Haryana. The AICC's Haryana in-charge Depak Babaria said a final list would be released together by Wednesday. He also said the speculation surrounding Vinesh Phogat would also be laid to rest by Tuesday.
