Karachi Airport explosion 'linked' to foreign intelligence agency: Report

A preliminary report over the recent explosion near Pakistan's busiest airport here has indicated that the attack was executed with the assistance of a foreign intelligence agency, a media report said on Saturday. The report, submitted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) to the anti-terrorism court, stated that the suicide bombing targeted Chinese engineers as part of a conspiracy to damage Pakistan-China relations, The Express Tribune reported. On Sunday, two Chinese nationals were killed and 17 people injured in the suicide attack by a Baloch insurgent group that targeted a convoy of Chinese workers. The explosion near the Jinnah International Airport on Sunday night also killed the suspected suicide bomber. Two Army personnel injured in landmine blast near LOC in J-K's Kupwara

Two Army personnel were injured in a landmine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on Friday, officials said. "In the wee hours, during patrolling at Googaldara near LoC in Trehgam area of the north Kashmir district, two army personnel got injured in a landmine blast," the officials said. Two more die in cracker factory blast in UP taking death toll to five

At least three persons were killed and as many injured following a blast at a firecracker manufacturing unit in a village here on Wednesday, police said. The explosion, which took place in the Sirauli police station area, also caused damage to some adjoining buildings, they added. The police said they are verifying the licence of the cracker unit's operator Nasir. A senior police officer said Nasir allegedly had the licence for another place but the house where the incident took place belonged to his in-laws. "Three people have died and at least as many injured in an explosion at a firecracker making unit in Sirauli area of Bareilly district," Inspector General (Bareilly Range) Rakesh Singh told PTI. Delhi Police raises security near Israel Embassy amid tension in West Asia

Delhi Police has beefed up security around the Israel Embassy in Tughlak Road area after the tension increased in the middle east. Ragpicker injured in blast happened near plastic bag in central Kolkata

A ragpicker was injured in a blast that took place in central Kolkata on Saturday, a police officer said. The explosion occurred when he was "near a plastic bag" at the crossing of Blochmann Street and SN Banerjee Road. "The injured person was identified as 58-year-old Bapi Das, who lives on a footpath beside S N Banerjee Road. He is a ragpicker," the officer said. The injured person suffered injuries in his right wrist and is being treated at the Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital. The NIA on Monday chargesheeted four men in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case and said the accused were involved in a "failed IED attack" at the Bengaluru BJP office on the day of the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. It said two of the key accused were ISIS (banned terrorist organisation Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) radicals who used fraudulently obtained "Indian SIM cards and Indian bank accounts" besides "various Indian and Bangladeshi Identity documents downloaded from the dark web (which is accessible only through specialised browsers) in carrying out their nefarious activities. The death toll in the chemical factory blast in Maharashtra's Thane district rose to nine with the discovery of one more body from the accident site, officials said on Friday. Police have registered a case of culpable homicide against the owners of the unit, Amudan Chemicals, located in Phase 2 of Dombivli MIDC. Kalyan Tehsildar Sachin Shejal said the toll might go up as they suspect more bodies are lying on the premises of the devastated factory. The debris is being cleared, said the official. Dombivli chemical factory owners knew lapses might lead to explosion: FIR

The Dombivli chemical company where a blast killed nine and injured over 60 had not taken precautions over the mixing and storage of compounds knowing well that any lapses might lead to an explosion, according to the FIR. The First Information Report (FIR) names company owners/directors Malti Pradip Mehta, Mayal Pradip Mehta and other directors, management staff and officials, who were supervising the factory. They have been booked for culpable homicide and other charges.
