Mumbai, 24 September Online ticketing company BookMyShow (BMS) made a mark in the entertainment service space by pioneering online movie ticketing in this country. It now hopes to boost its non-movie ticketing business, with a sharper focus on producing and promoting of live events. The company already provides online ticketing for sports and non-sports live events. Earlier this year, it started producing non-sports live contentk, with Disney's Aladdin. Currently, the movie ticketing business gives around 65 per cent of revenue. The rest comes from live event ticketing, including plays, music concerts, matches in the Indian Premier League and other sporting events. Movie ticketing is based largely on the commission model. There is growing competition in the space, with multiplexes pushing ticket sales on their own apps. And, players like Paytm are giving cash-back offers on their portals. Online ticketing company BookMyShow has acquired Nfusion, a digital entertainment company, for an undisclosed amount in an all cash deal. The acquisition is part of BookMyShiw's plans to expand the scope of its operations beyond just online movie ticketing. Nfusion was set up in Middle East in 2009 by Shoaib G.M. Khan, Sivagurunathan S and Prabhakar Reddy as a HD video-on-demand platform which allowed its users to stream videos online. BookMyShow will be using Nfusion's scalable tech solutions, especially CMS (content management system), for its foray into audio entertainment.
