PM stressed on setting up fodder banks in previous cabinet meeting: Rupala

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stressed on establishing at least one fodder bank each in four directions of the country in order to ensure food security of the livestock population, Union Minister Parshottam Rupala said on Wednesday. Addressing a fodder symposium here at Vigyan Bhavan, Rupala -- who is incharge of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying -- praised Modi for his commitment towards the livestock sector. "While approving a proposal related to livestock in the previous cabinet meeting, the PM had emphasised on the need to set up at least one fodder bank each in four regions of the country while continuing with the existing policies," Rupala said. The PM had also said the fodder banks should be developed scientifically along with logistic facilities, he added. On February 21, the cabinet had approved modification of the National Livestock Mission by including various activities and providing 50 per cent capital subsidy to individuals and organisations ..

PM Modi to chair Council of Ministers meet on March 3 ahead of LS polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers on March 3, days before announcement of the Lok Sabha elections, officials said. The meeting of the Council of Ministers is scheduled to be held at the Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave here, they said. The first cabinet meeting of the newly-formed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Chhattisgarh will take place on Thursday, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has said. Rs 20,773.7 cr cleared for transmission line to evacuate power from Ladakh

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved Rs 20,773.7 crore to set up a transmission line for evacuating power from for 13 GW renewable energy project in Ladakh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day speech announced setting up a 7.5 GW Solar Park in Ladakh. After an extensive field survey, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) prepared a plan to set up a 13 GW Renewable Energy (RE) generation capacity along with a 12 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Pang, Ladakh. For evacuating this huge quantum of power, it will be necessary to create an inter-state transmission infrastructure, an official release said. Punjab CM Mann calls emergency meeting of cabinet, no agenda released

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann called an emergency meeting of his cabinet at his residence here on Thursday, official sources said. The Cabinet has approved the terms of reference of the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal that will govern the division of the river water between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Addressing the media after a Cabinet meeting, Union minister Anurag Thakur said the tribunal will allocate water on a project-wise basis for projects in both states that are intended for developmental or future purposes. "KWDT (Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal) will provide new terms of reference under which the tribunal will divide the water of the Krishna River among both states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, in the future.
