Jagan Mohan Reddy looting Andhra Pradesh, says TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu

TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu Friday accused Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy of looting Andhra Pradesh and asked people to choose between a government that develops the state or the one that destroys it. Addressing an election meeting at Vemuru in Guntur district, he asserted that 29,000 farmers came forward to give 35,000 acres land reposing faith in him for setting up Amaravati as the capital city. Cancel Chandrababu's bail, his family tried to intimidate officers: AP govt

The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday requested the Supreme Court to cancel the bail granted to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the skill development corporation scam, claiming his family members have made statements to "intimidate" public servants to hamper the probe. The state government told a bench of justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal that Naidu's family members have made statements publicly that they would take action against the officers when they come to power. The apex court was hearing the state government's plea against an Andhra Pradesh High Court order dated November 20, 2023 granting regular bail to Naidu in the case. "We have filed an application for filing of additional documents. Statements have been made by the family members of the accused (Naidu)... The family members are saying when we will come to power, we will take action against all these officers," senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for the Andhra Pradesh government, told the bench. SC dismisses AP govt's plea against anticipatory bail to TDP chief Naidu

The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a plea of the Andhra Pradesh government challenging the anticipatory bail granted to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road scam case. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khana and Dipankar Datta dismissed the plea of the state government in which it has challenged the high court order of January 10 giving relief to Naidu. The bench noted that an appeal in the case arising from the same FIR involving other accused, was already dismissed by the court last year. It said in view of the earlier order passed by this court, the bench is not inclined to entertain the appeal of the state government. The Inner Ring Road scam case pertains to manipulating the master plan of Amaravati capital city, alignment of Inner Ring Road and the seed capital to allegedly offer undue enrichment to several companies during Naidu's tenure as chief minister.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to deliver on January 16 its verdict on former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu's plea challenging the high court order refusing to quash the FIR against him in the Skill Development Corporation scam case. Naidu was arrested on September 9 last year for allegedly misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation when he was the chief minister in 2015, causing a purported loss of Rs 371 crore to the state exchequer. Naidu has denied the allegations. The Andhra Pradesh High Court had on November 20 last year granted him regular bail in the case. An apex court bench comprising Justices Aniruddha Bose and Bela M Trivedi had on October 17 last year reserved its verdict on Naidu's plea challenging the September 22, 2023 high court order refusing to quash the FIR against him in the case. Former CM Chandrababu Naidu alleges 'irregularities' in Andhra voters list

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday wrote a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Andhra Pradesh, complaining about several alleged irregularities in the voters' list. The necessary changes in the electoral rolls are not being made as per the Electoral Manual-2023. Though the manual clearly specifies the procedure for deletion of multiple entries, the procedure is not complied with, as still there are double or multiple entries of voters in several constituencies, he alleged.
