Upcoming concerts of British band Coldplay in Mumbai and Indian singer Diljit Dosanjh in Chandigarh and other cities triggered a travel rush by fans, leading to over 300 per cent surge in flight bookings, online travel agency ixigo said in a report on Wednesday. The Grammy award-winning band Coldplay is scheduled to perform at Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium during January 18-21 as part of its 'Music of the Spheres' world tour. Punjabi singing sensation Diljit Dosanjh will perform at a live concert in Chandigarh in December this year as part of his DIL-UMINATI India tour. The country is witnessing a surge in travel bookings as fans flock to see these two live performances, said the ixigo report, adding that the platform has observed a sharp rise in flight, train, and bus bookings and searches to key concert cities. British rock band Coldplay on Sunday added a third show to the Mumbai leg of its "Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025" citing "phenomenal demand", hours after fans expressed disappointment over long virtual queues on the online ticket platform BookMyShow. The tickets for the new show, set to be held on January 21 at Mumbai's DY Patil Sports Stadium, will go live at 2 pm on BookMyShow. "Due to phenomenal demand, a third Mumbai date has been added at DY Patil Stadium for 21 January, 2025. Tickets on sale at 2PM IST today," Coldplay said in an X post, alongside the booking link. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has said that the band will stop recording new music in 2025. The 44-year-old musician made the revelation during an appearance on BBC Radio 2's special broadcast. "Our last proper record will come out in 2025, and after that I think we will only tour," Martin said. "And maybe we'll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then," he added. Martin leads the band which also includes Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion. Coldplay released their ninth album, 'Music of the Spheres', in October this year. The band is set to embark on a global tour next year. At the time of the album's release, Martin had said that the band might stop after releasing three more albums.
