Daimler India to enter battery electric segment with new gen eCanter

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles on Wednesday said it plans to foray into the domestic battery electric segment with the launch of the all-electric next-generation light duty truck eCanter in the next 6-12 months. The all-new next-generation eCanter had its world premiere in Japan and Europe in the second half of 2022. "The launch of the all-electric eCanter in India, within the next 6 to 12 months, is the first step in our long-term strategy to decarbonise our entire product portfolio," Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) MD and CEO Satyakam Arya said in a statement. However, the reality is that diesel ICE and carbon dioxide neutral propulsion technologies will continue to co-exist in the Indian market for the foreseeable future, he added. Daimler India CV posts record sales in 2023 boosting growth in revenue

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, the subsidiary of truck manufacturer Daimler Truck AG, recorded a 39 per cent growth in sales of trucks and buses in 2023, a top official said on Tuesday. The Indian subsidiary of Germany-based Daimler Truck posted a 13 per cent growth in cumulative sales in 2023 backed by strong product demand, thereby boosting a surge in revenues, the official said. In 2023, sales of domestic trucks and buses grew by 39 per cent while revenues went up by 21 per cent. The auto parts business also witnessed a 21 per cent growth last year. The company recorded a 107 per cent sales of buses in 2023, while cumulatively (including exports) sales grew by 13 per cent as compared to 2022. "Our best sales and financial growth since inception was spearheaded by excellent demand for our tipper and trailer product lines which grew 53 per cent and 79 per cent respectively. A slew of strategic initiatives that we undertook in 2023 also helped us to make informed decisions on .

Commercial vehicles maker Daimler India has forayed into the pre-owned business segment under its new brand 'BharatBenz Certified', the company said on Monday. Daimler India Commercial Vehicles is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stuttgart-based Daimler Truck AG. The new business initiative would refurbish and sell pre-owned BharatBenz trucks to customers. To be initially available at Trident Trucking in Bengaluru, the BharatBenz Certified programme would be expanded to other dealerships across the country. Daimler India reports 'strong' growth in revenue, sales in CY 2022

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) on Monday announced growth in its sales and revenue in 2022, selling over 29,000 units during the calendar year (CY). A company release said "despite supply chain headwinds and adverse cost environment, 2022 was one of the most successful business years." "The company reported a revenue growth of 37 per cent and a sales growth of 25 per cent in CY 2022 over CY 2021. 2022 was especially the best year of growth as DICV sold a total of 29,470 domestic and export units of trucks and buses in the calendar year," DICV, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, Germany, said. Daimler India logs 48% growth in truck wholesales from previous year

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (DICV) on Friday reported 48 per cent growth in truck wholesales at 14,222 units in 2021. The company, which manufactures BharatBenz brand of trucks and buses, had registered truck wholesales of 9,624 units in 2020. "Despite supply chain headwinds, rising input costs, rising fuel prices and the impact of the pandemic, we closed the year with a 48 per cent increase in domestic wholesales and achieved highest-ever growth in exports of trucks, buses and parts," DICV Managing Director & CEO, Satyakam Arya said in a statement. Exports of trucks and buses were at 9,073 units in 2021 as against 4,680 units in 2020, a growth of 93.87 per cent. Arya said DICV and 'BharatBenz' complete 10 years in the Indian market in 2022 and the company is geared up for a "sustainable growth this year".
