Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) will provide access to the independent director database to six executive search firms, a move that will further help in finding the qualified independent directors for companies. The institute is maintaining the Independent Director Databank (IDDB), mandated under the companies law. The databank is a repository of details of professionals eligible to serve as independent directors. Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed by the institute with six entities -- Korn Ferry, ABC Consultants, EMA Partners, DHR Global, Sheffield Hawroth and Vahura -- on Friday in the national capital. The database has information of around 32,000 independent directors. The average speed of Vande Bharat trains has decreased from 84.48 kmph in 2020-21 to 76.25 kmph in 2023-24, the railway ministry said in a response to an RTI query. Railway officials said not only Vande Bharats but many other trains are also maintaining cautionary speed at places were "huge infrastructural work" is underway. Telecom regulator Trai on Friday issued a supplementary consultation paper to seek stakeholders' views on provision of licence and spectrum allocation methods for data communication between aircraft and ground stations. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has floated a consultation paper on "Data Communication Services between Aircraft and Ground Stations for services provided by organisations other than Airport Authority of India". However, after detailed consultation, it could not get inputs on certain aspects, such as those related to service licence for provision of data communication services between aircraft and ground stations, methodology for spectrum assignment and spectrum charging mechanism, Trai said in the paper. "Accordingly, the authority has decided to issue this supplementary consultation paper to seek inputs from stakeholders on such aspects.
